Selectacare is a Canadian home care company that was founded in 1979 by William (Bill) and Joan Lindsay.
Before setting up the company, Joan worked for many years in the region as a Community Health Nurse. Her wide experience in providing care to patients, coupled with caring for her own parents, Bill’s parents and other family members, lead her to realize there was a greater need for home care services that really did put the client first.
From the very start, Selectacare’s mission has always been to provide a client focussed approach and ensure that families can access the best possible home care for their loved ones. 40 years on, we can proudly say we still maintain those same principles, which is why we have become one of the most preferred home care companies in the region.
Bill and Joan retired in 2002, and Selectacare is now run by Greg Lindsay their son. Greg has a wealth of experience working in Long-Term Care as well as for Community Care Access Centres. He also has a Master’s in Health Care Administration. Greg has seen first hand with his own grandparents he was close to, the difference that extra care can make to quality of lives.
